Palermo House
Inspired by the Corbusier style, the house is designed for the inhabitants to be Immersed by the natural elements.
The house sits on a cliff directed towards the sea.The enormous travertine terrace is shaped like a perfectly symmetrical arch capturing all the sounds and smells the sea brings in.To fully focus the attention towards the sea there are two walkways on either side of the terrace that connect the back with the front of the house.
The back of the house consists of a tall wall with walkway that keep out the noise of the road behind the house,but also takes care of a natural circulation of fresh air, and at the same time enhancing the presence of being Immersed in those natural elements. (keeping road noise out and enhancing the sound of the ocean).
The owner tells us about his experience growing up in this family home,filled with designer furniture collected over the years by the family.
The house literally works as a living machine, using the central living area as a center where all the other spaces branch off from.
