Westrand-Alfons Hoppenbrouwers , Dilbeek

Alfons Hoppenbrouwers was a postmodern architect in the eighties and nineties in Belgium. Influenced by the architects De Sijn and Le Corbusier, he paid strong attention to the real needs of people, building public buildings such as schools, cultural centers, churches but also private houses. The Westrand Cultural Center was designed in an unusual way: walking inside the building is expected to always be a new journey made possible by the various connections and relaxing areas. These different interior paths offer possibilities for simultaneous activities inside the Center.
