Xavier Corbero
Poetry in architecture
The countless arches are the defining element : appearing as windows, passageways and elements that build up an enourmous Piransiesque structure.
The clean geometry in concrete with silver painted ceilings to reflect and bring in light give this place a modernist feel.Mirrors and pools of water placed around the arches and open staircases create the illusion of a continuous realm.
Which are real? Which are illusions?
Carefully placed stone sculptures, some bathing in light, others appearing from behind arches hidden in the shadow, tell us this is an evocative space.
In the words of Xavier Corbero: "Poetry is the measure of all things here.
This place did not come from reason but from life experience itself.
A place in which the mental space not the real one is what matters here."
